Yes, creating polls and participating in polls as well as all essential functions on StrawPoll are available free of charge. The free version is funded by advertising revenue, which we display to poll participants to a reasonable extent. We believe that the functions of the website should never be limited by the introduction of premium content. Elaborate features such as an external CAPTCHA check, custom branding options and the ability to disable advertising for participants can be financed by a monthly fee.
- How many participants can vote in a poll?

There is no limit to the number of participants on StrawPoll. We have already successfully conducted polls with several hundred thousand participants.
- What types of polls are available on StrawPoll?

We offer the possibility to create anonymous polls, group polls, appointment polls and ranked choice votings. You can find examples for all poll types and voting methods on our live demo page.
- Are my surveys hidden from the public?

Yes, all polls on StrawPoll are private and only accessible through the link you share with your participants. Also, only surveys that you have either created or participated in will show up in the search function.
- How reliable are the results of a poll on StrawPoll?

The reliability of the results of a survey on StrawPoll strongly depends on the chosen parameters. The creator of a poll has control over how duplicate votes are handled by our systems. If you do not know the poll creator, it indicates that the poll results may not be reliable.
- What happens to my data?

We do not evaluate the contents of polls or pass them on to third parties. We store the personal data securely in a data center near Frankfurt, Germany. For more information, please see our privacy policy.
- A poll on StrawPoll violates my rights. What can I do?

We take such cases very seriously. Please report the poll immediately. Either via drop-down menu on the poll page or by mail to support@strawpoll.com.
- Are polls on StrawPoll representative surveys?

Short answer: No. The polls on StrawPoll do not have a representative character, because we do not use scientific methods to evaluate the demographics of poll participants.
- Can I share images and links from a poll?

Yes, the polls on StrawPoll are made to be shared. However, it is helpful to share not only a screenshot, but also the link to it so others can see the live result.
- Can participants edit their choice after voting?

It depends on what setting the creator of the poll has chosen for it. In general, it is only possible to edit the vote if the participant has included their name.
